See the chart below to learn the accuracy and maximum reach of each HEXAGON arm model based on length.
Reach values in this chart subtract 24 inches (612 mm) from arm reach to allow the scanner to scan the ends of the tube. The articulation twists back toward the other side of the volume.
The most extended reach using a HEXAGON 4.5-meter arm with a 3500 TRAX is 7.4 meters, or 24 feet.
The reach using a standard HEXAGON 2.5-meter arm with a 3500 TRAX is 5.4 meters, or 17.7 feet.

How to Calculate the Required Ceiling Height
Arms fold vertically in their resting position.
Therefore, arm heights above the table should be considered when planning ceiling heights. Download and use this calculator to enter your table height and calculate the needed ceiling height for any system.

About Leapfrog Plate Styles
Leapfrog plates allow you to make an arm move in the middle of a measure. You can use two kinds of leapfrog plates. We offer both types in our online store.
|
Sphere-Style Plate
This plate is used for systems that have a LASER scanner and no ball probe. |

|
Conical Seat Style
For applications where a ball-probe is available, we recommend that you use this plate over the Sphere-style plate above. It is easier to use for leapfrog. |
