DNS Name IP Address IP Address for VTube Internet License Server Shared / Custom URL Example IP Address Will the IP Address ever change?

VTube uses the same underlying technology as web browsers to communicate to a remote license server through the Internet.

Communication with VTube Internet License Server is over port 80 (HTTP) and port 443 (HTTPS)

When loading, VTube will attempt initial communication over HTTPS and automatically fall back to communication over HTTP if there is a failure.

DNS Name

If your IT department has to configure rules to allow connection to the VTube Internet License Server, sometimes you can use the DNS name rather than the IP Address. It is recommended to use the DNS name if allowed, as the IP Address can change.

  • The VTube Internet License Server Custom URL: advancedtubular.softwarekey.com

IP Address

If you need an IP Address, ping our VTube Internet License Server Host Name to get the IP Address. Follow the steps below to ping the Server.

IP Address for VTube Internet License Server Shared / Custom URL

  1. Click the Start button, type "cmd" (without the quotes) in the search bar, and press enter to open the Command Prompt.
  2. Type the following command (for Shared URL or Custom URL):
  • ping advancedtubular.softwarekey.com

Example IP Address

The IP Address of the VTube Internet License Server will be displayed in the command prompt window and will look similar to this output example:

Pinging advancedtubular.softwarekey.com [66.150.99.96] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 66.150.99.96: bytes=32 time=12ms TTL=242 Reply from 66.150.99.96: bytes=32 time=12ms TTL=242

In the above example output, the IP Address for advancedtubular.softwarekey.com is 66.150.99.96.

Will the IP Address ever change?

Using the DNS name rather than the IP Address is always recommended, but we recognize not everyone can use DNS for their proxy rules. If you need to use an IP Address, you can use the above resources to identify the IP Address. We know it is important to avoid IP Address changes if possible, but certain circumstances may require it. In the unlikely event that a circumstance requires us to fail over to a geographically-distant disaster recovery site, this IP Address will likely change.
