  1. End scan flier filters only work if the end trim is perpendicular to the attached straight centerline. Therefore, curved (like coped) end trims don't work well in the filter.
  2. The end scan flier filter requires a high point count from the surface scanned. It does not work when the measured point count is small - like with tactile measurements (using a ball probe). Some customers use systems without laser scanners.
     
  3. Some customers don't want to qualify for an end length in the correction process. So they turn the filters off.
