There are three options when selecting the end of a tube inside VTube-STEP > Collected Features > Show Collect Control

Trim to Surface Centroid: Midpoint between the furthest and nearest edge of a coped end

Trim to Surface Furthest Point from Centerline Midpoint: Furthest point away from the midpoint

Trim to Surface Nearest Point from Centerline Midpoint: Nearest point from the midpoint
