Use These Setup Steps for RDS
Make sure your Connection Control Pack is correctly selected.

Enter the RDS Control Panel and Choose AS1

Change the user mode to Advanced.
- Press the user button.
- Press the Advanced button.
- Enter the Password: Advanced
- Press OK.

Recommended AS1 Menu Setup
- Capture mode: "Keep button pressed"
- Point sampling - Set it as low as possible. 50% is recommended.
- Exposure mode: SHINE (which is an Automatic mode)
- Angle of Incidence: 80 (degrees)
- High gain: OFF for non-reflective parts

Set the high gain to ON for highly reflective parts (like chrome or stainless).
- High gain: ON - This will reduce the laser brightness

Save the configuration setup (HEXAGON calls this the Scanning profile).

Switching from non-reflective to reflective
If you have both reflective and non-reflective tube surfaces, then you can also save a reflective scanner setup for VTube like this:

Save the changes.
After making changes to the AS1 setup, RDS will place a Save button in the lower right corner. Press the Save button to keep the changes.

Suggested Arm Touch Screen Configuration
Uncheck the Touch Panel enable if you do not want the arm touch screen to work.

How to Fix RDS When the RDS Service Will Not Start
If the RDS Service will not run (image here shows running), the "Stop" button will read "Start". If when you press "Start" RDS does not start, then an uninstall and reinstall of RDS may be necessary.
