How do we calculate the adjustment? What was the last adjustment? Our five-year approach gives customers a price break. When is the next planned adjustment? As a strategy to curtail the price increase, consider a multi-year SMA purchase. Questions? Please Contact Us

Customers sometimes ask us to explain our price increase policy. This article describes how and when we change our prices.

How do we calculate the adjustment?

CPI - The Consumer Price Index is reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Currently, we adjust the prices of our products based on cumulative inflation, calculated by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, every five years. Our increase compensates for the loss of the dollar's value.

What was the last adjustment?

Our last adjustment was April 1, 2024. Over the previous five years (from 2019 to 2024), the cumulative inflation was 22.63%. In 2014, our across-the-board price increase was 20% for most of our products.

Our five-year approach gives customers a price break.

Our policy gives our customers a price break for four years before we adjust in year five. Frankly, it's easier for us to change every five years, and we figure that customers appreciate the break, too. Unless inflation gets out of hand, we will probably leave the adjustment period at every five years.

When is the next planned adjustment?

We plan for a price adjustment on April 1, 2029. When the time approaches, we will send a broadcast to all customers noting this change. Tracking cost-of-living inflation can help you prepare for our price increase before it occurs.

As a strategy to curtail the price increase, consider a multi-year SMA purchase.

One strategy to reduce price increases is to purchase multi-year SMAs. A few customers purchase five-year SMAs at a lower price, where the SMA overlaps years with higher prices. Not only do we give you a discount for purchasing multiple years, but you also automatically bypass any price increase during the period your SMA is in effect. (And, of course, we appreciate the trust!)
