VTube-STEP Chiyoda New Bender Data Communications

VTube-STEP can export new bender data to Chiyoda EX CHS files.

The Import/Export menu has the Chiyoda EX File - CHS buttons for both IMPORT and EXPORT of Chiyoda EX CHS data files

This screenshot shows the Chiyoda EX Export dialog from VTube-STEP. VTube-STEP can also import Chiyoda EX part data in CHS files. (Use the import menu in that case.)

VTube-LASER Chiyoda Correction Communications

VTube-LASER can also send correction data to Chiyoda EX benders by modifying Chiyoda EX CHS data files. Users can use a thumb drive or a network connection to transfer data.

To make a network connection, share the D: drive inside the Chiyoda EX control.

1 - The video shows how to import bender data from a CHS file that was created at a Chiyoda EX bender. Before exporting corrections, it is necessary to import a file that was created at the Chiyoda EX control. Be sure to always RECALL Chiyoda EX data before attempting to SEND data back to the bender.

2 - The video shows exporting corrected bender data to a new CHS file. The corrected data is inserted in the imported data and saved to a new channel file. (Note that a Chiyoda Channel refers to a single part on the bender control hard drive. However, a VTube-LASER Bender Setup Channel is connection metaphor to a bender.)

Why VTube Needs Chiyoda EX Template Files Established at the Bender to Send Data to the Bender

VTube inserts new data into the CHS data structure when it saves back to the new CHS file. However VTube cannot always create a CHS file that will work on all CHIYODA EX benders without the help of files from each unique Chiyoda control. Therefore, during export of new data from VTube-STEP to Chiyoda EX benders, VTube requires that the user create a Chiyoda CHS file at the bender control first, save the file to the D: drive on the control or to a thumb drive, then allow VTube to select and use that file as a template file to create a new CHS part that the Chiyoda EX control can load. We recommend that you create a template file with the correct number of bends at the Chiyoda for each setup.

Benderlink Setup Grid

The Chiyoda EX file protocol is included in the Benderlink setup grid. Access the grid in the System Options Bender menu. This menu can also be accessed from the "Setup this Window" button in the VTube-LASER Bender Setup screen.

When inside the Benderlink grid, you can select the Chiyoda EX protocol for any bender channel like this:
