VTube 4.5 Build 1955 - June 9, 2026
1 - NEW - Added Support for NIKON Scanners on MCAx Arms
VTube-LASER now handles scanning with Nikon scanners on MCAx Arms. LK Metrology recently purchased the NIKON Metrology scanner technologies, so VTube-LASER is also compatible with LK Metrology Model H120 Scanners on Freedom Arms.*
(*VTube-LASER currently supports the LASER scanner systems only and not the ball probe.)
2 - NEW - Added Support for Cut Planes and Diameter Cut Planes with all NIKON-based systems

VTube 4.5 Build 1954 - June 8, 2026
1 - FIX - Rapidly Repeating Shortcut Key
VTube now intercepts and handles rapidly repeating shortcut key presses. For example, pressing Ctrl-S once would cause VTube to receive multiple Ctrl-S key presses in succession. In some cases, this rapid succession would flood VTube with complex repeating commands and cause VTube to bomb without an error message.
VTube 4.5 Build 1952 - June 1, 2026
1 - NEW - Segmented Centerline File Import Has New Capabilities
- Import point clouds that are segmented into separate straights by an external Keyence camera process.
- New - each group of points is used to fit the 3D points to ordered 3D centerlines.
- New - The 3D centerlines are intersected into a tube centerline.
- New - They are then copied to the VTube-LASER MEASURED TUBE data grid for PASS/FAIL qualification.
This diagram shows the order of the segmented scan process from the gauge's top view. The segments are scanned by a Keyence scanner in this order. The resulting data is sent to VTube-LASER for inspection as a file containing 3D points separated into individual, ordered, straight sections. VTube-LASER loads the MASTER/NOMINAL for this part and performs a PASS/FAIL inspection.

This is the interface shown in VTube-LASER for manual testing of this process.

See this quick start guide for using the Segmented Centerline import process.
2 - END SCAN HANDLING for Segmented Centerline Import
The end scans control the location of the end points if the Skip End A and Skip End B is disabled.
Just like regular scanning, the end-scans flier filters can be switched on and used for either end. If the flier filter fails to product an end point from the cloud, then the end legs will probably be much shorter - because no point from the cloud end scan will be used. This will then trigger an inspection FAIL.

3 - NEW - MATERIAL TABLE Now Stores the Elongation Percentage for Each Material Type
- The MATERIAL TABLE now stores the Elongation percentage for each material setup.

4 - NEW - The MODEL EXPORT Window Now Has a Clear Viewport Button
- You can now clear the current model in the viewport with a single button.
