Version 4.4 - Build 1913, October 22, 2025

1 - NEW: Added MORE Space Object Types to Point Locator Control

More than Point space objects can be located with the point locator. Now, Planes, Circles, Slots, and Spheres can be located in space relative to the tube model in Point Locator.

2 - FIX: Fixed probe offset compensation problem for points, plane circles, and slots

The previous build would offset the plane along an inverted normal. This has been corrected.

3 - NEW: Very Close Probe Point Positions Allowed

VTube no longer uses the stripe separation filter in the Point Cloud control window for tactile measuring with single-point ball probe measuring. There is no longer a separation filter that is applied.

Version 4.4 - Build 1912, October 15, 2025

1 - ENHANCEMENT: The Point Locator logic is significantly improved.

This change uses a corrected orientation for the measured-aligned IJK of the probe displayed on the screen. It prevents memory loss during extended use. It has a smoother redraw experience. It is much faster than the original release.

Version 4.4 - Build 1911, October 11, 2025

NEW: VTube-LASER now has a new Point Locator control window.

This control allows users to visually locate points in space relative to measured-aligned tubes. It uses Space Object points as a reference. As the user nears the target space object point in space, the on-screen ball probe changes color. Also, the control shows the real-time distance from the probe to the target point in space.

Version 4.4 - Build 1910, October 10, 2025

1 - ENHANCEMENT 1: The Global Configuration Saves Once During Idle Times

The idle timer now saves the global configuration file after 2 minutes of idle time. If the idle time continues to grow beyond 2 minutes, no further saves are made. When VTube senses new activity, the idle time is reset to zero, the idle time counter begins to count up to 2 minutes again, then the global configuration file will save again when the timer passes 2 minutes. This keeps the idle timer from saving to the configuration every two minutes of building idle time.

2 - ENHANCEMENT 2: The Idle Timer Saver Is Bypassed at VTube Shutdown

This prevents the idle timer from attempting to save the global configuration at shutdown.

Version 4.4 - Build 1909, October 9, 2025

NEW: VTube now only saves the global config file after it has been idle for 2 minutes.

It will still save the config when it exits. This saves the user time.

Version 4.4 - Build 1908, October 9, 2025

1 - CHANGE: The Point Cloud "From Probe" creation tools for Planes, Circles, and Round Slots have been redesigned with a more efficient plane algorithm.

2 - CHANGE: The Measure Processes for probed planes, circles, and round slots now require a compensation point.

For example, a plane requires 3 points on the plane and one point above the plane.

3 - CHANGE: The Measure Processes for planes, circles, and round slots algorithms have been fixed so that they no longer always report “not enough points.”

4 - NEW: Both FARO and METRONOR keyless setup programs are added to the VTube-LASER lineup.

Version 4.4 - Build 1906, October 3, 2025

FIX: Now all file exports in VTube-STEP will warn of file overwrites.
