A tolerance profile is a complete cylinder deviation setup that can be stored and recalled for different projects. The reason they exist is to allow the user to quickly open the tolerances for tube shapes that are highly deformed.  Then, when the tolerances are opened, the new configuration inside Measure 1 can be stored in a named "Profile" in the list box on the right side.

For example, you might want to scan armor-covered brake lines. Then you can store a profile with the word "armor" in it.
