The UniScan PROBE CENTERLINE mode allows a tube centerline to be drawn in space between tube cylinders and circle slices - allowing end straight vectors to be locked for squareness to connecting end ports.

  • A Probe Centerline allows for drawing a centerline in space when in UniScan mode in between scanned cylinders and circle slices.
  • This allows for locking the end vectors of end cylinders for perfect mating to connecting ports while allowing the center sections flexibility in location.
  • Probed centerlines will always use two and only two points. Only the first point and the last point in any scan are used. If you take more than two points, all the points in the middle of the probe centerline are discarded.
  • If you switch the laser off and probe two centerline points, then you must press the accept button after measuring the second point.
  • The centerline can be in between UniScan cylinders and circle slices.
  • Cylinder and Circle Slice vectors measured adjacent to probed centerlines always take precedence over probed centerline vectors. Therefore, they are always locked in planar space when solving for intersections with probed centerlines. This allows the end straight vectors to be constrained so that they remain square to attachment ports.
